"Beloved, using all diligence to write to you of our common salvation, I have been obliged to write to you exhorting [you] to contend earnestly for the faith once delivered to the saints"

Welcome! This website is principally concerned with the teaching of Christianity as set out in the Bible. If you are not a believer on the Lord Jesus Christ, please read "The Facts of Life" opposite. Spiritual things can only be understood by spiritual means (see 1 Corinthians 2: 13), and you will never really understand the Bible until you know the Lord. "Ye search the Scriptures, for ye think that in them ye have life eternal, and they it is which bear witness concerning me ... these are written that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing ye might have life in his name" (John 5: 39; 20: 21).

The primary purpose of this venture, however, is to reach out to my brethren in Christ, and to provide them with an "outline of sound words" (2 Timothy 1: 13) so that they might "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3: 18). To this end, I have brought together a collection of suitable articles (mainly from my bi-monthly booklet entitled Jude v3)—these may be accessed via the column opposite. Please do not take anything on this website at face value, but search the Scriptures to see if these things are so. It may be that some of the things you read are different from what you have been taught previously. If so, check the facts out in the Word of God! All I would ask is that you do not just dismiss things out of hand. The Bereans received "the word with all readiness of mind" (Acts 17: 11, my emphasis).

The Bible translation used (unless otherwise indicated) is that by John Nelson Darby (1800 - 1882). Abbreviations are kept to a minimum, but two common ones are 'OT' for Old Testament and 'NT' for New Testament. It should also be noted that 'Assembly' is generally substituted for 'Church', the former being closer in meaning to the Greek original.

All articles on this website are believed to be in the public domain, and you are free to copy and/or distribute them as you wish. You will also see that no authors are given (even if known). My reasons for this are as follows:

1. It is human nature to test what is written, not by whether it is in accord with the Bible, but by who wrote it. This undermines the absolute authority of Scripture.

2. Many of the articles have been subjected to considerable editing by myself, and it would not be honest or fair to attach the names of others to work over which they have no control.

3. Above all, there is a Scriptural precedent for anonymity: the titles of the books in the English Bible are not inspired, and many of the authors are not known for certain (e.g. the Gospel of Matthew). Even where we are fairly sure of the authorship (1 John for example) the writer himself is obscure about his identity.

In view of the above, I take complete responsibility for the content of the website.
